沃顿商学院颁发美国硕士学位:达米恩·斯尼德和布兰迪·萨顿

Join Brandie Sutton and Damien Sneed for a virtual concert highlighting American Masters 晚上8点。 on Friday, Jan. 29. This intimate virtual performance of voice and piano will explore the works of George Gershwin, Leslie Adams, Undine Smith Moore, Duke Ellington and more. Sutton and Sneed will also share some of their most beloved spirituals and hymns.

Hailed by The New York Times for her “warm, ample voice” and by Opera News for her “sumptuous soprano,” Brandie Sutton has toured and performed around the world, including performing with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and the New York City Opera. She also was one of Aretha Franklin’s picks in her national competition to find the next opera star to sign to her label and won the Harlem Opera Theater Vocal Competition.

Mutli-genre recording artist Damien Sneed is a pianist, organist, composer, conductor, arranger, producer and arts educator whose work spans multiple genres. He has worked with jazz, classical, pop and R&B legends, including the late Aretha Franklin and Jessye Norman. He also worked with Wynton Marsalis, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Ashford and Simpson, Wycliffe Gordon, Lawrence Brownlee, J’Nai Bridges, Brandie Sutton, Raehann Bryce and many others. Sneed, whose latest tour stop at Wharton Center in 2020 celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., will be returning to Michigan State University as an artist-in-residence. Sneed also is working with Wharton Center and the MSU College of Music to help bring social impact programming to both institutions.

 

Sneed’s credits also include serving as music director for Grammy Award-winning gospel artists The Clark Sisters, Richard Smallwood, Donnie McClurkin, Hezekiah Walker, Marvin Sapp, Karen Clark Sheard, Dorinda Clark-Cole and Kim Burrell, among others. Sneed is a featured producer and writer on the Clark Sisters’ new project, “The Return,” released on March 13, 2020.
